Overview

The SEO Manager is responsible for leading search engine optimization initiatives to enhance the organic visibility and performance of the company’s e-commerce platform and digital presence supporting multiple physical store locations. This role encompasses strategic, technical, and operational responsibilities, including managing SEO campaigns, optimizing on-site search and content, overseeing technical SEO, and leveraging analytics and AI tools to drive efficiency and results within the marketing department.

Responsibilities

Core SEO Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive SEO strategies to maximize organic traffic, improve search engine rankings, and increase conversions for the e-commerce platform and store location pages.
  • Conduct in-depth keyword research, competitor analysis, and SEO audits to identify opportunities for optimization and growth.
  • Optimize website content, including product descriptions, blog posts, category pages, and landing pages, to align with SEO best practices and enhance user experience.
  • Lead link-building initiatives to strengthen domain authority and improve search visibility.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on SEO performance using tools such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, SEMrush, or Ahrefs, providing actionable insights to stakeholders.
  • Stay current with search engine algorithm updates, industry trends, and best practices to ensure strategies remain effective and compliant.

Technical SEO Responsibilities:

  • Oversee technical SEO elements, including site architecture, URL structure, canonical tags, schema markup, XML sitemaps, and robots.txt configuration, to ensure optimal crawlability and indexability.
  • Conduct regular technical audits to identify and resolve issues such as broken links, duplicate content, and crawl errors.
  • Optimize website performance, including page load speed, mobile responsiveness, and Core Web Vitals, to enhance user experience and search rankings.
  • Collaborate with web development teams to implement technical SEO recommendations and ensure seamless integration of SEO requirements in site updates.p

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Tag and Pixel Management: Administer pixels, tags, and tracking codes through Google Tag Manager or Adobe Launch to ensure accurate data collection for marketing campaigns and analytics.
  • Analytics Support: Provide support for Adobe Analytics, including report generation, data analysis, and troubleshooting to inform marketing strategies and e-commerce performance.
  • AI-Driven Process Optimization: Utilize AI tools to identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities across the marketing department.
  • Landing Page Development: Create and optimize landing pages for campaigns, promotions, and store-specific initiatives, ensuring alignment with SEO and user experience standards.
  • Site Optimization: Manage ongoing website optimization efforts to improve functionality, navigation, and performance across desktop and mobile platforms.
  • On-Site Product Search Optimization: Enhance on-site product search functionality by refining search algorithms, filters, and results to improve user engagement and conversion rates.
  • Category Page Optimization: Develop and optimize category pages to support intuitive navigation, SEO performance, and customer interaction on the e-commerce platform.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in SEO, with a focus on e-commerce or retail environments.
  • Demonstrated success in increasing organic traffic and improving search engine rankings.
  • Advanced proficiency with SEO tools, including Google Analytics, Google Search Console, SEMrush, Ahrefs, or similar platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of technical SEO, including site architecture, schema markup, and website performance optimization.
  • Experience with Google Tag Manager, Adobe Launch, or equivalent tag management systems.
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Analytics or comparable enterprise analytics platforms.
  • Familiarity with AI tools for marketing automation or process optimization is preferred.
  • Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and website content management systems (e.g., Shopify, Magento, WordPress).
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and translate insights into strategic actions.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment with strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work at a computer for extended periods of time

Preferred Knowledge and Skills:

  • Experience with local SEO strategies to support physical store locations.
  • Familiarity with user experience (UX) principles and conversion rate optimization (CRO).
  • Knowledge of e-commerce platforms and their SEO requirements.
