Overview

The Ops Shipping Clerk will assist the Distribution Managers, Supervisors, and Team Leads with accurately and efficiently maintaining records, preparing and processing outbound shipments, and communicating with carriers and retail stores to ensure a smooth transition from loading to unloading.

Responsibilities

  • Assists Distribution Management in basic and clerical duties
  • Performs document preparation, control, and filing activities
  • Perform daily end of shift reports
  • Ability to help Management and Leads in any other area of the business as needed
  • Communicate with supervisors, team leaders and transportation of daily needs
  • Completes daily yard checks
  • Complete accurate daily data entry
  • Create and or manage transportation/operations spreadsheets
  • Communicate and/or coordinate pickup and delivery routes
  • Work with carriers to supply equipment needs
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED strongly preferred; combination of education and experience may be considered
  • Proficient in basic computer skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office
  • RF scanning proficient
  • Must operate in compliance with all company policies
  • Must be able to work safely in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be highly motivated, a self-starter and be able to work independently as well as with others in a dynamic work environment
  • Must be able to solve problems
  • Be flexible, have an adaptable schedule, willing to work across multiple shifts including holidays
  • Ability to sit at a computer for extended periods of time as needed
  • Ability to lift 70 pounds or more
  • Ability to lift and handle cases in a variety of sizes and weights
  • Ability to work in a non-temperature-controlled warehouse/distribution center setting
