Overview

The Distribution Supervisor will be responsible for assisting in the overall supervision of the operation for the Distribution Center.  Duties include supervising employees as they perform customer and store order fulfillment, replenishments, receiving/put away, inventory management, loading/unloading, damage control and training of proper distribution procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises and trains staff to perform duties safely, accurately, and timely
  • Manages labor needs within budgeted standards
  • Directs the flow of received product to be put-away into proper locations
  • Trains employees on proper loading and unloading techniques and equipment use with an emphasis on damage control and safety
  • Trains proper pallet building, pallet staging and storage processes/procedures
  • Controls the movement of inventory and overall inventory control in the storage and dock areas for transfer or replenishments to other buildings as well as storage for the brick and mortar operation
  • Controls and maintains a safe and clean working environment
  • Coordinates the return pallets of stored brick and mortar product to meet the allocation needs of the business
  • Coordinates with DC management on all DC issues or needs, such as; employees, equipment, repairs and supplies
  • Works with dispatcher and drivers on the trailer coordination
  • Have an overall knowledge of each cross-functional area to assist when needed in those area
  • Assists overall DC operations as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or 3 to 5 years DC experience, 1 -2 years as DC leader, in high volume operation
  • Combination of education and experience may be considered
  • Highly motivated and results oriented
  • Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships
  • Demonstrates strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Highly organized
  • Ability to work under time lines and schedules
  • Ability to multitask and direct several teams at the same time
  • Ability to build team work within the department
  • WMS knowledge and skill
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Time and attendance management
  • Ability to sit at a computer for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to stand and work on concrete floor for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to work extended work hours during peak weeks.
  • Ability to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment.
  • Ability to lift 70 lbs. as needed.
  • Work to be performed in warehouse environment with exposure to heat, cold and dust.
