Overview

The Associate Sourcing Manager will provide sourcing and operational support across all aspects of the product life cycle from initial design to delivery. This person will play the part of an important liaison while managing day to day communication between the agents/vendors and merchandising team and cross-functional partners within the company.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the relationship with our vendor partners and overseas buying agents. Assist in setting long term strategic direction as well as managing short term tactical execution to drive penetration goal and cost saving.
  • Establish and maintain a cost component breakdown for the products while monitoring raw material costs and trends. Developing tool that will assist the team to maintain bill of material and component to ensure accuracy in modeling product cost.
  • Manage the flow of import orders by working closely with overseas agents and the cross-functional teams to ensure product compliance, quality, and timely delivery.
  • Generate new ideas, anticipate potential risks and provide problem solving solutions.
  • Monitor milestone production calendars to ensure deadlines are met. Provide timely updates to the team and ensure issues are addressed.
  • Establish and cultivate strong relationships with all internal and external business partners.
  • Occasional calls with overseas vendors and agents outside of normal office hours.
  • Overseas and domestic travel up to 10%

Qualifications

  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years working experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office application including advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Strong negotiation, organizational and presentation skills are preferred.
  • Experience with product testing for quality assurance is a plus.
  • Must have the ability to respond to rapidly changing priorities and deal with multiple demands. Candidate should be detail oriented, express strong follow up skills as well as strong analytical aptitude.
  • Candidate should be a great communicator both verbally and in writing in order to communicate and interact with people at all levels internally and outside of the company.
  • Ability to sit at a computer for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
